Abstract

This study is grounded in the importance of objective performance evaluation in youth basketball, particularly in identifying the technical determinants that influence match outcomes at early developmental stages. The purpose of this research is to conduct a comparative analysis of game performance indicators between the champion and runner-up teams in the First State League 2025 KU-10 final match between BIFFI and THE LION. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with a comparative approach. Data were collected using the FIBA LiveStats system to objectively extract key metrics, including shooting percentage, rebounds, assists, and turnovers. The results revealed that BIFFI achieved superior performance through higher two-point field goal efficiency (32%) and stronger team collectivity, as indicated by 10 assists, which contributed significantly to their 38–30 victory. In contrast, THE LION dominated in total rebounds (42) but failed to convert possession into scoring opportunities due to low shooting efficiency (18%) and a high turnover rate (22). Overall, both teams demonstrated a strong reliance on interior play, with average finishing percentages remaining below 30%. In conclusion, the findings highlight that performance in youth basketball is influenced not only by possession quantity but also by execution quality, decision-making, and team coordination. These results emphasize the need for data-driven training approaches to enhance fundamental skills and mental resilience, thereby supporting optimal athlete development in the U-10 category.
