Abstract

Physical education plays an essential role in promoting students’ physical, cognitive, and social development, and its effectiveness is strongly influenced by the availability of sports facilities and infrastructure. However, disparities in these resources across schools may lead to differences in learning quality. This study aims to analyze the differences in sports facilities and infrastructure between State Middle School 1 Ampana City and State Middle School 2 Ampana City. This research employed a quantitative approach with a comparative design using the Independent Samples T-Test. The sample consisted of 146 respondents for the sports facilities variable and 24 observation units for the sports infrastructure variable. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, all of which were tested for validity and reliability to ensure data accuracy and consistency. The results showed a significant difference in sports facilities, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The mean score of sports facilities at State Middle School 2 Ampana City (80.55) was higher than that of State Middle School 1 Ampana City (72.97), indicating better facility quality in the former. In contrast, the infrastructure analysis revealed no significant difference, with a significance value of 0.073 (p > 0.05), suggesting relatively similar conditions between the two schools. In conclusion, sports facilities are a dominant factor influencing the quality of physical education learning. Adequate facilities contribute to increased student physical activity, motivation, and engagement, while infrastructure serves as a basic support system that still requires continuous improvement.
