Abstract

Physical fitness is a crucial component in supporting students’ readiness to perform both academic and vocational tasks, particularly in physically demanding fields such as Light Vehicle Engineering. However, declining levels of physical activity among adolescents have raised concerns regarding their overall fitness status. This study aimed to analyze the physical fitness profile of Grade XI students in the Light Vehicle Engineering program at SMK Negeri 1 Seputih Agung. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 30 students aged 16–19 years selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia / TKJI), consisting of five components: push-ups, sit-ups, standing broad jump, 20-meter sprint, and 1000-meter run. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, frequency distribution, and percentage classification based on TKJI norms. The results revealed that 66.7% of students were categorized as having poor fitness levels and 30% as very poor, while only 3.3% reached the moderate category. No students achieved good or very good classifications. Cardiorespiratory endurance was identified as the weakest component, with an average 1000-meter run time of 7.18 minutes, classified as very poor. Overall, 96.7% of students were below the moderate fitness level. In conclusion, the physical fitness profile of students is relatively low, indicating insufficient physical readiness to meet the demands of industrial work environments. Therefore, the implementation of structured and adaptive physical education programs is essential to improve students’ physical fitness and occupational preparedness.
