Abstrak

Basketball extracurricular activities play an important role in developing students’ technical skills, particularly dribbling and passing, which are fundamental components of game performance. However, conventional training methods often do not optimally support students in understanding and mastering movement patterns. Therefore, the use of visualization media is considered a promising instructional strategy to improve motor learning and technical skill acquisition. This study aimed to determine the effect of visualization media on improving basic dribbling and passing skills in the basketball extracurricular activities of State High School 15 Bandar Lampung. This study employed a quantitative experimental method using a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 30 students participating in basketball extracurricular activities, divided into 15 students in the experimental group (visual) and 15 students in the control group (non-visual). The treatment was conducted over 18 meetings, with three sessions per week. Data were collected using dribbling tests and passing skill tests, then analyzed through normality, homogeneity, and t-test analysis. The results showed that the experimental group improved significantly, with a t-count value of 5.880 > 2.145, indicating a significant effect of visualization media on dribbling and passing skills. In addition, the comparison between the experimental and control groups showed a significant difference, with t-count = 2.181 > 2.048, confirming that visualization media was more effective than conventional training. Students in the visual group also showed improvement in average performance from 21.54 to 23.70. In conclusion, visualization media significantly improves basic dribbling and passing skills and can be used as an effective instructional approach to enhance technical mastery in school basketball extracurricular activities.
