The Sports Facilities and Infrastructure at Accredited State High Schools

The availability of sports facilities and infrastructure plays a crucial role in supporting the effectiveness of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning in schools. Adequate facilities enable students to actively participate in physical activities and help teachers deliver instructional materials more effectively. However, disparities in facility availability are still found across schools, even among those with high accreditation status. Therefore, this study aims to determine the level of availability of sports facilities and infrastructure in A-accredited public senior high schools in Bungo Regency. This research employed a quantitative descriptive survey method. Data were collected through direct observation using a checklist instrument based on the standards outlined in the Minister of National Education Regulation Number 24 of 2007. The instrument consisted of 30 components, including 10 infrastructure components and 20 sports facility components. The research subjects included ten A-accredited public senior high schools in Bungo Regency. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the percentage of available facilities and infrastructure in each school and classifying the results based on Arikunto’s criteria. The findings revealed that the availability of sports facilities and infrastructure varied across schools, ranging from 43.3% to 80%. The total number of available components was 179 out of 300 standard components, resulting in an average availability of 59.7%, which falls into the moderate category. In conclusion, although the availability of sports facilities and infrastructure is generally sufficient to support PJOK learning, further improvements are needed to achieve optimal educational outcomes.
